League Leading Stampede Players Players Top League Stats

HARRISBURG, PA (June 15, 2012) - The Stampede set out the start of the season with the hopes of turning around the organization both in the community and on the field. The field stats certainly are impressive as well the team saw the best attendance in four years. The goal for 2013 will be to improve in all areas.

The high scoring Stampede Offense averaged 59 points a game. The aggressive and relentless Defense, gave up just 23 points a game. Several Stampede players are among the League Leaders in all categories as well as having more than one player in the top 5 of many categories.

The Stampede has two players that will have something to say about being Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year in the AIF. Ej Nemeth is the Stampede's nominee for Offensive Player of the Year. Ej threw for 1639 yards with 37 touchdowns and only 8 interceptions. He threw 133 completions on 257 attempts and finished with a 146.6 qb rating. He also rushed for 124 yards on 37 carries and added another 16 rushing touchdowns. Armar Watson is the Stampede Defensive nominee. Armar compiled 10 interceptions, 2 of those were returned for touchdowns. He also had 25 tackles, 24 pass deflections. Armar also had a 28 yard average on Kick Returns and returned 2 for touchdowns. As well he also spent some time on Offense and had 3 receptions and another touchdown.

Stat leaders for the 2012 Stampede saw Eugene Goodman lead the League in rushing with 317 yards and 9 touchdowns. Scorpio Brown led all receivers with 45 catches for 631 yards and 15 touchdowns. Colis Martin and Jon Lanouette were number 3 and 4 in receptions with 40 and 26 receptions. On defense Jermaine Thaxton led the league with 48 tackles and was followed in second by Vincent Tiberi with 36 tackles and rookie James Rockymore finished 5th with 26 tackles. Fearon Wright and again Tiberi were second and third in the sack category with 8 and 6 sacks. Richard Johnson and James Rockymore were also in the top 5 of interceptions with 5 and 3 interceptions respectfully.
