
Lawrence Samuels sets AFL Record

Duluth, GA - (With 6:45 left in the third quarter against the Georgia Force,) Tampa Bay Storm wide receiver Lawrence Samuels caught a 11-yard pass from Brett Dietz to became the Arena Football League's career reception leader surpassing the great Barry Wagner. Samuels entered the game against the Force with 986 career receptions, needing six to surpass Wagner's 991 career receptions.
With the Storm fighting for a spot in the playoffs, Samuels can become only the sixth player in all of professional football to accumulate 1,000 career receptions and join the like of Jerry Rice, Chris Carter and Tim Brown.
The Storm host the Orlando Predators in the "War on I-4" Saturday, June 7 at the St. Pete Times Forum as Samuels continues his assault on 1,000 career receptions.
