WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert issued the following statement regarding Brittney Griner:

"There has not been a day over the past ten months where we all haven't had Brittney Griner on our minds and in our hearts and that has now turned into a collective wave of joy and relief knowing that she will soon be reunited with her family, the WNBA player community, and her friends. BG has shown extraordinary courage and dignity in the face of enormous adversity. The WNBA is grateful beyond measure to the Biden Administration, the Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs, and all those who played a role in bringing BG home today. Our hope is that Paul Whelan and every wrongfully detained American will be returned home safely and as soon as possible."

The XFL announced it has selected Under Armour as the League's Official Uniform Partner. Beginning in the 2023 XFL season, Under Armour will be the exclusive provider of all on-field uniforms, including jerseys, base layer, sideline and training apparel, for all XFL teams. In partnership with Under Armour, the XFL today revealed its new team uniforms, including unique home and away sets, each designed with an authentic execution of the individual team identities.

Chairwoman and Owner Dany Garcia and St. Louis Battlehawks Head Coach Anthony Becht join Matt Barrie on SportsCenter to reveal the XFL uniforms and talk about the upcoming 2023 season.

The XFL announced its official rules for the 2023 season, which includes innovative changes in the areas of clock management, play reviews and late game possession designed to improve gameplay and enhance the fan viewing experience. Popular rule innovations such as tiered extra points and double forward passes will carryover from the 2020 season. Teams will also continue to line up five yards apart on kickoffs, as they did in 2020, which resulted in fewer injuries and a 92% return rate. Among the new game enhancements is an extra possession option, where in addition to an onside kick at any point during the game, teams may now attempt to retain possession by converting a 4th and 15 play from their own 25-yard line in the fourth quarter only.

XFL Head Coaches Terrell Buckley (Orlando Guardians) and Hines Ward (San Antonio Brahmas) and VP Officiating and Rules Innovation Dean Blandino join NFL Live's Laura Rutledge on air to discuss the XFL rules.

He is currently the CFL's longest-serving head coach, having led the Blue Bombers for eight years since accepting the role in December of 2013.
