SAN DIEGO, CA (AFWL TICKER) â The quest for an undefeated season continues! The first place SunFire will play host to the visiting Arizona Titans Saturday night at Patrick Henry Stadium in American Football Women's League Contest.
Last Saturday night, the SunFire came out on top in a back-and-forth battle, between the Los Angeles Lasers in San Diego. The SunFire fell behind early, but took a 21-14 lead at half time and never looked back. 33-26 the final .
The Titans' last game was against Long Beach in Arizona. And, although the Aftershock beat Arizona 63 to 0 the first contest, the second game was a different story. The Titans stepped up the Defense but couldn't turn on the Offense. Long Beach walked away with the victory by the final of 12 â 0. Despite the loss, it was a big improvement for Arizona.
The SunFire holds the dubious title as the only team to give up a score to the Titans. San Diego head coach Mike Suggett, says his team will be ready for whatever the Arizona bring on Saturday.
As the only undefeated team in the league, San Diego will host its first ever playoff game on December 7th as the top seed. The championship game wil be held at the top team's home field on December 14th.The SunFire is the only undefeated team in the league.
