Las Vegas Stars News Release

Las Vegas, Nevada: The Las Vegas Stars make their final regular season game one to remember. The Stars set a new scoring record by defeating the Phoenix Flame 206 - 128. This was the second of back to back games in Las Vegas. The Stars were led by the IBL league leading scorer, Dajuan Tate with 46 points. "Dajuan is a special player" said Stars head coach Dan Savage "he can control the game at any point." Tate rattled of 27 points in the 3rd quarter alone. Others who chipped in on the record were Waki Williams, former Memphis Tiger, with 37 points, most of them monster dunks, Eddie Shelby and Hollis Hale each chipped in with 20 points. As Coach Savage pointed out, you need a fast point guard to score all of those points. "Willie Hall was outstanding for us tonight; he pushed the ball up the court faster than I have ever seen in the game. He finished with 18 assists and 12 points" noted Savage. The Stars finish the regular season with a record of 12-4 and are gearing up for the play-offs later next week.

Dajuan Tate - "I love this style of play; it gives everyone a chance to score"

Willie Hall - "What?s funny is that I was really trying to work on my defense tonight"

Coach Savage - "It is a good feeling as a coach to have 12 guys that not only want to run every play but that can run every play"

Coach Savage - "With our style we are going to cause some major problems for other teams in the play-offs, we should make it to the finals without a doubt"

Coach Savage - "We have scored 565 points over the last 3 home games; some other teams do that at the half way point in the season"

Coach Savage - "This group has not been challenged by any IBL team yet, I think most of them are ready to make the leap to the next level"
