Las Vegas Legends Combine Ends with 40 Advancing to Nationals

LAS VEGAS - Local tryouts saw over 110 native players showcasing their talents in front of Head Coach Greg Howes and his coaching staff. During the tryouts players were placed in training groups and were evaluated on fitness and overall play. Prospects were vying for a spot on the team and 40 were selected to advance to the Legends' national tryouts
"I couldn't have been more pleased with the quality of players our local tryout produced. Though some players were not selected to advance to the national tryouts, the support of so many local players, spectators and media coming to out shows that the Las Vegas community is ready to support a professional team here in the valley," said Howes.
The 40 selected will return in make-shift teams and will be paired with 3-5 teams from around the country. Teams will compete for a cash prize and an opportunity to land a playing contract with the Legends. Howes will be selecting 25-30 players to move on for consideration to join the Legends inaugural roster.
"The local tryout has set the tone for what will be a very competitive national tryout process" stated Howes. "It is our goal over the next two weeks to sign a couple of local players as well as a number of players from the national tryout. Finding committed quality players that will make us successful on and off the field, is our number 1 goal as our home opener on October 18th is right around the corner," added Howes.

The national tryout is open to spectators, families and media. The first day will be held at Las Vegas Sports Park in Summerlin on Sept 1st at noon.

Las Vegas Legends are the newest member of the Professional Arena Soccer League, PASL. All Legends home games will be played at the Orleans Arena, located at 4500 W. Tropicana Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89103. The Legends 16-20 game season runs October through March. The Legends' home opener is October 18th, with the regular season starting Nov 1 at home.
