Laredo Hosts Conference Finals

(4/07/03) The Central Hockey League's Southern Conference Finals come to Laredo this week with the Bucks and the Austin Ice Bats tied at one win apiece. The Bucks won Game One, 1-0 in overtime. The Ice Bats countered with a 4-1 win in Game Two. Game Three is Tuesday and Game Four is Thursday at the Laredo Entertainment Center. Face-off is at 7:30pm both nights.

MVP finalist Eric Schneider returned to the Bucks Sunday after playing for San Antonio in Saturday night's American Hockey League game in Chicago. With Schneider in the lineup, the Bucks are 3-1 in the playoffs. While leading the CHL with an average of 1.84 points per game, Schneider posted seven goals and four assists in 24 regular-season games with the Rampage. The Rampage will open the AHL's Western Conference Quarterfinals in Norfolk on Thursday.

Michel Periard, Andy Lundbohm and Serge Dube lead the Bucks in playoff scoring with five points apiece. Periard and Lundbohm each have three goals and two assists. All three of Lundbohm's goals have been game-winners. Dube has one goal and four assists. In goal, Lance Leslie is 2-3 with a 1.857 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage. Marc-Andre Leclerc is 2-0 with a 2.00 goals-against average and a .930 save percentage.
