Laredo Bucks News Release
LAREDO, Texas â The Laredo Bucks went 3-0-1 last week and made CHL history. The Bucks are 37-5-4 with a CHL and Southeast Division best 78 points. The Bucks beat Corpus Christi 7-3 at home on Wednesday, then went on the road for a pair of games. Laredo beat San Angelo 6-2 on Friday then rallied to force overtime before losing 4-3 to New Mexico. Tuesday night the Bucks returned home and defeated the Austin Ice Bats 5-1. The win was the Bucks record setting 16th consecutive victory on home ice, a new CHL record.
The Bucks travel to the Texas panhandle this weekend as they visit Lubbock on Friday and Amarillo on Saturday. Laredo returns home on Wednesday, February 11th, against the Fort Worth Brahmas in an 11 a.m. game at the LEC. SPECIAL EVENTS
· Wednesday, February 11th, the Bucks return home against the Fort Worth Brahmas. The game will be played at 11 a.m. as students from around Laredo will come to the game as a field trip.
NEXT UP
· The Bucks travel to Lubbock on Friday to play the Cotton Kings. Saturday, Laredo is in Amarillo taking on the Gorillas.
BUCKS VS. UPCOMING OPPONENTS
LUBBOCK COTTON KINGS · The Bucks are 2-0-0 against the Cotton Kings. The last meeting came at the LEC as the Bucks pounded the Cotton Kings 11-1 on January 20th. On that night Laredo set a franchise record for goals in a game. Both meetings this season have come at the LEC. Last year the Bucks were 6-0-1 against Lubbock.
AMARILLO GORILLAS · The Bucks are 0-0-1 against the Gorillas. Amarillo beat the Bucks 3-2 in a shootout at the LEC on November 11th. Last year the Bucks went 1-1-0 against the Gorillas with each team winning at home.

· The Bucks need just seven more points to clinch a playoff berth and the Southeast Division title.

· Forward Chris Grenville has scored a goal in four straight games and in 16 of the last 19 games. Grenville currently leads the CHL with 31 goals.

· The Bucks have outscored teams 119-47 on home ice and gone 22-1-1 at the LEC this year.
HAT TRICKS
· Forward Jeff Bes had a hat trick last night in the Bucks 5-1 win over Austin. Bes has recorded both of the Bucks hat tricks this season. Last night was the first hat trick at home for Laredo this season.

· 02/03/04 â TUESDAY â The Laredo Bucks set a CHL record as they posted their 16th straight win on home ice with a 5-1 victory over the Austin Ice Bats in front of 5,601 fans at the Laredo Entertainment Center. Forward Jeff Bes had a hat trick as the Bucks improved to 22-1-1 at home. The Bucks are a CHL best 37-5-4 with 78 points and need just seven more points to clinch a playoff berth and the Southeast Division title. Bucks goalie David Guerrera was outstanding stopping 24 of 25 shots to improve to 22-3-2. FINAL SCORE Laredo 5, Austin 1.

· 01/31/04 â SATURDAY â The Laredo Bucks battled back twice from a two goal deficit and picked up a point as they lost 4-3 in overtime to the New Mexico Scorpions on Saturday night at Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Vladimir Hartinger scored a pair of goals including the game winner in overtime to power the Scorpions to their season high fifth straight win. The Bucks garnered a point for the 29th time in the last 31 games and are now 36-5-4 with 76 points. David Guerrera allowed four goals on 19 shots to drop to 21-3-2. FINAL SCORE New Mexico 4, Laredo 3 in overtime.

· 01/30/04 â FRIDAY â The Laredo Bucks used three goals in the final 1:21 of the second period to blow open a tight game and beat the San Angelo Saints 6-2 on Friday night in San Angelo. Serge Dube had a pair of goals as the Bucks improved to 12-0-1 in their last 13 games. Overall Laredo is 36-5-3 and leads the CHL with 75 points. The Bucks have recorded at least a point in 28 of the last 30 games. David Guerrera stopped 28 of 30 shots to improve to 21-3-1. FINAL SCORE Laredo 6, San Angelo 2.

· 01/28/04 â WEDNESDAY â The Laredo Bucks came from 3-1 down with six unanswered goals and posted a 7-3 win over Corpus Christi on Wednesday night at the LEC in front of 5,578 fans. Defenseman Serge Dube posted a pair of goals and an assist to lead the way. The Bucks are 35-5-3, with a CHL and Southeast Division best 73 points. The Bucks won their 15th straight game at home and are 11-0-1 in their last 12 games. David Guerrera stopped 23 of 26 shots to improve to 20-3-1. FINAL SCORE Laredo 7, Corpus Christi 3.
