Midwest Division Star of the Week: Landon Pavlisin, Goaltender, Kenai River Brown Bears
Kenai River Brown Bears goalie Landon Pavlisin, 20, helped his team move into 1st place in the Midwest Division by picking up three of four points in a weekend home series against the Minnesota Magicians. The 6'0/170 lbs. native of Orange, California, allowed just a single goal on 68 shots in the two games. On Friday, Pavlisin stopped all 35 shots in a 1-0 shootout loss to the Magicians. On Saturday, he allowed just a single goal and made 32 saves in a 2-1 overtime win. "Landon was excellent this past weekend, coming up with a number of big saves both nights. In two low scoring games he was a big reason why our team was able to get points out of both nights. He's been a calming influence for us all season," said Brown Bears head coach Kevin Murdock.
