LANCASTER, Calif. - Lake Elsinore proved too much for the JetHawks Saturday night, handing Lancaster an 11-4 loss at The Hangar. The Storm recorded 19 hits, including five from Ruddy Giron, to knock off the JetHawks.

Lake Elsinore (10-14, 44-50) opened the game with four-straight hits against Matt Dennis (6-10). Ruddy Giron doubled home a run and Luis Torrens added an RBI single, making it 2-0 before the JetHawks had a chance to hit.

Giron led off the third inning with another double, and he scored on a Torrens single. Later in the inning, Allen Córdoba smacked a two-run double to left field to make it a five-run lead for the visitors.

Lancaster (13-11, 46-48) got back in the game with a couple of home runs. Allen Trejo hit a two-run shot in the bottom of the third, and Tyler Nevin led off the fourth inning with a solo blast to make it a two-run game.

That was as close as the JetHawks got, as Lake Elsinore scored the next six runs of the game. The Storm scored four in the sixth inning and two more in the seventh. Lake Elsinore had four hits in four separate innings. Ruddy Giron led the way, going 5-for-6 with three doubles.

Emmanuel Ramirez (5-3) pitched six innings to get the win for the Storm. Elliot Ashbeck worked the final three frames, giving up just a run in the ninth inning.

With Inland Empire's win over Rancho, the JetHawks are up in the standings by just a game over the 66ers. Lake Elsinore is two games behind Lancaster.

Game three of the four-game set is Sunday evening at The Hangar. Brandon Gold (6-6) takes the hill for Lancaster against 21-year-old righty Michel Baez (2-6). First pitch is set for 5:05 pm.
