LANCASTER, Calif. - Rancho Cucamonga homered five times Wednesday night as Lancaster fell, 11-4, in the series finale at The Hangar. Rancho's Rylan Bannon became the second California League player this season to hit three home runs in a game.

Bannon's first home run came in the second inning, but Lancaster (7-7) had an answer early. In the last of the frame, Manny Melendez and Joel Diaz hit RBI doubles to put the JetHawks on top.

Rancho Cucamonga (7-7) took the lead back in the fourth. Bannon's second homer of the night put the Quakes up a run, and Lancaster trailed the rest of the night.

Brandon Gold (2-1) suffered his first loss of the season, allowing five runs in as many innings.

Bannon completed the hat trick with a two-run home run in the ninth inning off of Reid Humphreys, who struck out four in the frame. Omar Estevez and Connor Wong each went deep as well for Rancho, giving the Quakes five on the night.

Four Rancho pitchers combined to strike out 18 JetHawks. Starter Tony Gonsolin struck out seven, but it was Ryan Moseley (1-0) who got the win. Lancaster also stranded a season-high 13 on base in the loss.

Manny Melendez had a pair of RBI doubles- his first two extra-base hits of the season- in the contest. The offense drew a season-best eight walks.

Lancaster and Rancho are tied atop the South Division through 14 games. The JetHawks begin a four-game series at Inland Empire Thursday night. Heath Holder (1-0) is slated to make his first start of the year against Joe Gatto (0-0) in San Bernardino. First pitch is at 7:05 pm.
