
Lakeland Raiders Sign Muwwakkil Munir

LAKELAND, FL - The Raiders have added power, speed and experience to their defensive line with the addition of their newest signed athlete, Muwwakkil Munir. A stellar athlete and formidable foe, Munir is also the first deaf professional indoor football player overcoming many obstacles as a result of losing his hearing at a young age. Munir began his collegiate career at Edward Waters College and went on to join the team at Western Kentucky gaining a reputation for being both a standout athlete and positive team member. For the last two seasons, he has been played in the Southern Indoor Football League (SIFL) with the Albany Panthers. A championship athlete measuring over six feet and weighing in at 325 pounds, Munir has proven himself to be an asset both on and off the field.
"He is a dedicated athlete and a beast! He comes from a very athletic family and has never let anything get in the way of accomplishing his goals" commented Operations Manager Feddy Azofefia.
Owner Michael Mink also had this to say about his newest player acquisition "Munir brings a wealth of experience to our team and his motor never stops running. He is eager to keep learning and wants to make himself better a player with each game. The Raider Battalion needs players like Munir who are proven winners and have a passion for capturing championships."The Lakeland Raiders' season tickets are on sale now and with prices ranging from $59 to $140. For fans wanting the "Ultimate In-The-Game-Experience," lower level boxes, with seating for up to 10 fans, are available for $3500. The team also has an upcoming tryout camp on October 8th at Lakeland Christian. Registration will start at 10am. Athletes are encouraged to pre-register at the team website www.lakelandraiders.com.
