Trois-Rivieres, Quebec - The Trois-Rivieres Aigles, the newest member of the Can-Am League, introduced former major-leaguer Pierre-Luc "Pete" Laforest as the club's field manager at a press conference held at the Salon des Jeux de Trois-Rivieres on Wednesday.

A native of Gatineau, Quebec, Laforest,34, spent parts of four seasons in the big leagues with Tampa Bay, San Diego and Philadelphia between 2003 and 2007. He also starred for the Can-Am League's Quebec Capitales from 2009 to 2012, winning the league's MVP award in 2009, serving as the team's hitting coach in 2011 and 2012, and helping the team to four consecutive championships.

Originally a 16th-round draft pick by Montreal in the 1995 draft out for Fort Scott (Kansas) Community College, Laforest played 17 seasons professionally, also spending time in the Mexican and Atlantic Leagues.
