Lady Lynx Draw in Vermont

July 8, 2006 - USL First Division (USL-1)
Toronto Lynx News Release

The Toronto Lady Lynx played to a scoreless draw against the Vermont Lady Voltage this evening at the Collins-Perley Sports Complex in St. Albans, Vermont.

Toronto was unable to penetrate Vermont's defence through 90 minutes of play and had to settle with one point. This was a far cry from the 4-0 thrashing Toronto inflicted when both clubs met at Centennial Park Stadium on May 21. That evening, Sylvia Forbes scored all four goals.

Toronto's potent strike force, led by W-League scoring leaders Syvlia Forbes who is tied for fourth with ten goals and Deana Everett who is tied for sixth with nine goals, could not find the back of the net today.

Toronto only failed to score in one previous match, a 0-0 draw at home against the Laval Comets.

Today's result leaves Toronto with a record of 6-1-2 and places them in second place of the W-League's Eastern Conference - Northern Division with 21 points. Toronto's only loss this season came at the hands of the first place Ottawa Fury who defeated the Lady Lynx 2-1 one week ago.

Toronto's record leaves them on the verge of qualifying for the W-League playoffs for the second year in a row.

Toronto continues their road trip tomorrow night when they take on the Laval Comets at 4:00 PM.
