March 27, 2015 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Los Angeles KISS News Release

LA KISS (0-1) kicked of its second season in the Arena league tonight in Portland losing to the Portland Thunder (1-0) 37-42.

LA KISS got on the boards first. But, a missed field goal made it only a six point lead. The Thunder answered back with a quarterback sneak to take the lead when the extra point was good. With 8:59 remaining in the first half new LA KISS quarterback Adrian McPherson scrambles down the field for 22 yards and the score to get LA KISS back in the game.

In the first half you can quickly see that McPherson and Donovan Morgan will be a treat to defenses around the league. They connect, numerous times during a game that became a back and Fourths between these two second year teams.

The Thunder get the lead back to end the first half with a score and the lead 30-35.

Penalties and incomplete passes hurt LA KISS all night. Including the intentional grounding penalty on McPherson early in the game. But, even with the early mistakes you can quickly see this is not the same team that took the field last year.

Rowley connects with Howard for a Thunder score to build its lead by 12. 42-30. It's was not long before McPherson connects with Lewis for his second score of the game and LA KISS wakes up to move the chains and the scoreboard in our favor. 37-42 with 42 seconds left.

Spencer does an onsite kick that gets recovered by Spencer and with the clock ticking down LA KISS had another opportunity to get the win. But with penalties and dropped passes it was not enough. The Thunder takes the win, with a score of 42-37and giving LA KISS the first lost in 2015. LA KISS move to 0-1.

LA KISS will again be on the road next week as they travel to San Jose to take on the Sabercats on April 4th kickoff at 7:30. The first home game is April 11th vs the Las Vegas Outlaws at 7pm Honda Center
