LA Galaxy II Earne a 3-0 Shutout Win

LOS ANGELES - Playing their eighth match of the 2022 USL Championship Regular Season, LA Galaxy II earned a 3-0 shutout win over Phoenix Rising FC at Dignity Health Sports Park on Sunday night. In his first start of the year, Jonathan Pérez tallied a goal and two assists, while Cameron Dunbar and Remi Cabral both notched goals in the win over Phoenix.

LA Galaxy Academy

Five LA Galaxy Academy products started in the win over Phoenix: Eric López, Jalen Neal, Felipe Cobian, Dunbar and Pérez. Taylor Davila and Adrian Gonzalez appeared off the bench for LA. Pérez tallied a goal and two assists in his first appearance of the season for Los Dos, while Dunbar notched a goal in the victory against Phoenix.

LA Galaxy II At Home

With the win over Phoenix, Los Dos won their third consecutive match at home dating back to a 1-0 win over Rio Grande Valley FC on March 23. In four matches played at home this season, LA holds a 3-1-0 record. The victory extended Galaxy II's three match unbeaten run (2-0-1) dating back to April 16.

Goal-Scoring Plays

LA - Remi Cabral (Jonathan Pérez), 2nd minute: Jonathan Pérez switched the field of play to Cabral on the left edge of the penalty area. After controlling and flicking the ball up, Cabral chipped the ball over Phoenix goalkeeper Ben Lundt into the top corner of the net.

LA - Cameron Dunbar (Jonathan Pérez), 13th minute: Dribbling towards goal in midfield, Jonathan Pérez threaded the ball through the Phoenix defense to Cameron Dunbar, whose first-timed shot from just outside the six-yard box found the bottom right corner of the net.

LA - Jonathan Pérez (Owen Lambe), 43rd minute: Owen Lambe delivered a long ball that released Pérez into space down the right flank. Pérez dribbled past a Phoenix defender before rifling his left-footed shot past Lundt at the near post.

Postgame Notes

The win over Phoenix Rising FC moved LA Galaxy II up to seventh place in the Western Conference standings.

In two games played against Phoenix Rising FC this season, LA holds a 1-1-0 record.

In four matches played at home this season, LA holds a 3-1-0 record.

LA has scored a goal in every match this season, the only team do so in the USL Championship.

The three goals scored ties a season-high for goals scored in a single game in 2022.

In his 2022 USL Championship debut, Jonathan Pérez tallied a goal and two assists in 84 minutes of action against Phoenix.

Pérez finished the match with a game-high five chances created and seven successful dribbles.

Cameron Dunbar notched his first goal of the 2022 campaign.

Dunbar has tallied one goal and two assists in his last three games played dating back to April 16.

Remi Cabral tallied his second goal of the season in the win over Phoenix.

Owen Lambe notched his first assist in his eighth game played this season.

Eric López registered a season-high five saves and his second shutout in the win over Phoenix.

LA is 3-0-1 in four games played when Eric López starts in goal.

Galaxy II have played in four matches this year where a red card has been issued.

Five LA Galaxy Academy products started in the win over Phoenix, while two additional academy products came off the bench.

Timbers Academy defender Felipe Cobian earned his third consecutive start and finished the match with a team-high eight possessions won.
