CARSON, Calif. - LA Galaxy II (8-4-4, 28 points) earned a 1-1 road draw against Arizona United SC (4-6-3, 15 points) at Peoria Sports Complex on Saturday evening as Galaxy II forward Travis Bowen opened the scoring for Los Dos at the 17th minute of the game.
LA Galaxy II scored the first goal of the match when captain Rafael Garcia lofted a ball into the box form the right-wing. Galaxy Homegrown Player Jack McBean jumped in the air and back-heeled the ball into empty space near the top of the box. Bowen ran up and rifled the ball into the back of the net.
Arizona United SC and the LA Galaxy II exchanged opportunities for the remainder of the first half with neither side taking advantage.
After trailing for the majority of the first half on a goal from the LA Galaxy II's Bowen, Arizona United SC emerged from halftime and attacked the LA Galaxy II backline with urgency and pace.
In the 54th minute, Morrison played a diagonal ball to forward Jon Okafor who was then fouled on the edge of the box. Morrison lined up for the shot, curled the ball around the LA Galaxy II wall, and into the far post for the equalizer and his first goal of the season.
After the equalizer from Arizona United SC in the second-half, both sides fought a tough battle in the midfield. As the match approached its conclusion, LA Galaxy II started to create more chances in the final third, and a massive save by Evan Newton in the 77th minute prevented the Los Dos from pulling ahead.
Curt Onalfo's squad will conclude the three-game road swing against Orlando City SC on Saturday, June 28 at 4:30 p.m. PT at the ESPN Wide World of Sports.
