SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- Newport middle infielder Joshua Kuroda-Grauer (Rutgers) and North Shore right-hander Matt Potok (Coastal Carolina) have been named the New England Collegiate Baseball League's (NECBL) Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively, for the seventh week in the 2022 regular season.

Kuroda-Grauer dominated this week in his seven appearances for the Gulls. In twenty-seven at bats, the infielder batted a high .519, ranking third in the league, with fourteen hits, six doubles and three walks. His thirteen RBIs led the NECBL. Kuroda-Grauer added seven runs and hit both his homers on consecutive days. The Rutgers man recorded a hit in every game this week and had five multi-hit outings. He had four two-hit games, including a four-RBI effort and a home run in a 13-5 win over Ocean State on July 21. The New Jersey native also shined the following day with another four-RBI game, this time recording four hits and three doubles. For the season, the Gull has a .331 average with thirty RBIs, thirty-one runs scored, four home runs, twelve doubles and fourteen walks in fourty games.

During his freshman season with the Scarlet Knights, Kuroda-Grauer batted .299 with fifty-nine hits, five homers, thirty-nine RBIs and thirty-four runs scored in fifty-three games and 197 at bats.

The New Jersey native let up just three hits and a walk while facing three batters over the minimum required. Potok struck out eleven Swamp Bats, the most by any starter this week.
