Fort Wayne, IN -- The Fort Wayne Komet Hockey Club previewed their soon-to-be-launched official team website at a press conference in conjunction with the announcement that the franchise was set to join the ECHL for the 2012-13 Season. A launch date of Tuesday, June 5, 2012 was announced for the site.

For the first time, the Komets will offer an on-line Team Store allowing fans throughout the world to purchase Komet merchandise, souvenirs, and novelty Items. The launch of the Team Store will feature a selection of 2012 Komets CHL Championship merchandise in addition to a standard line of Komet items. As the Team Store progresses, special offers, discounts, and incentives will be available to Komet Season Ticket Holders including a full integration of the Komets Orange Collar Card Fan Loyalty Program into the site. There will also be a new Komets' Mobile Site specifically designed to enhance the user's experience on mobile devices, tablets, and phones regardless of make, model, or operating system. The Mobile Site will debut shortly after the main site launch in plenty of time for the start of the 2012-13 Komet Season, their first in the ECHL.

The new Komets-Dot-Com will feature improved navigation through the ticketing process for all fans, whether looking for general information about packages available or looking to purchase specific seats to a specific Komet home game. There will be an interactive arena seating chart allowing fans to see the exact view that their potential seating choice will provide. In addition to a much more dynamic presentation of the latest news about the team, an interactive calendar will also provide specific information about all Komet events from player appearances throughout the community to official team events to all home and road games. The site will feature many strategies designed to enhance the fans and visitors' experiences as well as integrate all of the Komets promotional, marketing, and informational efforts through social media and the internet. Fans will have the ability to download and access more photo galleries, player information, video, audio, and other multi-media features that will keep them immersed in the Komet live game experience long after they have left the arena on a game night.

Komet Corporate Partners will also be highlighted in much more detail through the various site portals, allowing Komet fans greater interaction with the companies that support Fort Wayne Komet Hockey. In addition, the Komet Team Roster section will provide greater depth of stats, photos, and career information than ever before as well as highlighting selected players on and off of the main page through Meet the Team functionality previously unavailable on the old Komet site. There will also be an all new and improved Comcast Komet Hall of Fame section featuring Komet Legends and Lore from six decades of Fort Wayne Komet Hockey. The new Hall of Fame section is slated to debut in 2013.

Komets' Vice President Scott Sproat commented: "The goal of the new Komets-Dot-Com is to provide a more total entertainment and involvement experience for Komet fans world wide. As the new site progresses, fans will find that new features will continually be introduced to improve, enhance, and expand the reach of the site. We've had plans for a new site for several years, but it just made sense for us to hold-off until now as we launch the future of Komet Hockey in the ECHL and the next decade of our commitment to Komet fans everywhere. Also, we sincerely appreciate the efforts of Cirrus ABS. They've designed a fantastic site that will only get better and better as we move forward."
