
Knuble and Fowler Tabbed by USA Hockey for Awards

A pair of players from the United States Hockey League have been recognized by USA Hockey for their outstanding seasons in 2022-23.
Fargo Force forward Cole Knuble was named the Dave Tyler Junior Player of the Year, while Youngstown Phantoms netminder Jacob Fowler was selected Dave Peterson Goaltender of the Year.
Knuble, this year's recipient of the USHL Curt Hammer Award, registered 30 goals and 36 assists for 66 points in 57 games in helping Fargo to a 40-14-4-4 record as the USHL regular-season champions. Knuble, who was rated #105 in the NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings, ranked ninth in league scoring and was second in the league in shots on goal (216). The Grand Rapids, Mich., native was named MVP in helping lead the U.S. to Gold at the World Junior A Challenge in Ontario in December and played in the Biosteel All-America Game in January. Knuble was named All-USHL First Team this season and in 124 regular-season games during his USHL career , registered 50 goals and 66 assists for 116 points. Knuble is a Notre Dame commit.
This year's USHL Goaltender of the Year and Clark Cup Most Outstanding Player, Fowler finished the 2022-23 campaign with a 27-9-3-1 record, 2.28 goals against average and .921 save percentage. He led all USHL goaltenders in wins, goals against average and save percentage. He tied for the league-lead with five shutouts and his 1,029 saves ranked fifth. A seven-time USHL Goaltender of the Week over the course of the season, the Melbourne, Fla., native helped lead the Phantoms to this year's Clark Cup Championship as USHL playoff champions. Fowler is a Boston College commit.
