Key Transactions
On Wednesday, Sky Blue traded forward Savannah McCaskill to the Chicago Red Stars in exchange for the club's highest first-round pick and the club's second-round natural pick from Utah Royals FC in the 2020 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) College Draft. McCaskill had appeared in six matches for Sky Blue this season with four starts, recording one assist.
Recent Form
Through eight games in 2019, Sky Blue sits at 0-6-2 in league play, having lost their last four contests. The New Jersey-based club sits with the Pride as the only other winless team in NWSL, with Saturday presenting the opportunity for one of the clubs to earn its first win of the season.
Who's Hot
Raquel Rodriguez currently sits tied with U.S. WNT midfielder Carli Lloyd for the team lead in goals scored this season for Sky Blue with two. Rodriguez has accounted for two of Sky Blue's last three goals scored, finding the back of the net on both May 11 and May 18. She has been unable to continue that streak, however, as Sky Blue has been shutout in their last two matches.
Head-to-Head
The Pride hold a 3-3-2 record against Sky Blue in the Club's four-year history. In 2018, the Pride went 1-1-1 against Saturday's opposition, earning a win and a draw at home while falling on the road. Prior to falling on the road last season, the Pride had earned a result against Sky Blue in their last four matchups with a 3-0-1 record.
Rasmussen College Fun Fact
Saturday's match will see the Pride face an American head coach for the first time this season in Sky Blue Head Coach Denise Reddy. Prior to Saturday, the Pride have faced off against four English head coaches (Portland, North Carolina, Utah, Houston) and one Macedonian-born coach (Reign FC).
