Knights return for another year of WBA hoops action

----------------------------------------------- The Gainesville Knights have announced that they plan to make Gainesville their permanent home as they open the start of the 2006 basketball season. The Knights are a professional spring/summer league basketball team that competes in the World Basketball Association.

"We have been treated like a member of the Gainesville city family since our arrival to town and we are extremely thrilled to be a part of the Gainesville community," said team Owner and President, Curtis Richardson. "The fan support we received in our inaugural year made us feel right at home and we look forward to our second season as we keep our eye on the league championship."

The Knights have announced the return of general manager and head coach Ricky Benitez to lead the team.

"Coach Benitez brings a long successful career and has the respect and experience to attract top quality ball players to help us make a formidable opponent," said Richardson. The Knights have also announced the acquisition of the services of Duane Allen Jenkins and has named him assistant general manager, as well as promoting Jenkins to the post of vice president of marketing.

"I'm so pleased to be associated with the organization and I'm delighted to be here in the great city of Gainesville, Ga. We have an aggressive agenda that has been designed to assist the city in a wide variety of community-based services," said Mr. Jenkins.

The World basketball Association is a 14-team basketball spring/summer league headquartered in Atlanta. The season runs from the end of April through July.
