April 3, 2014 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Rochester Knighthawks News Release
The Rochester Knighthawks (9-4) will travel to the Xcel Energy Center to take on the Minnesota Swarm (3-10) on Friday, April 4th at 8:30 p.m. The game will be shown live exclusively on UniversalSports.com and is available to Rochester Time Warner Cable "Sports Pass" subscribers.
The contest is the first of a home-and-home series, which shifts back to Rochester Saturday night. Both games will be available on Sportsradio 950 ESPN and online at www.sportsradio950espn.com.
The last time the two teams met, the Knighthawks successfully defended their home turf in an 8-6 win over the Swarm on December 28th.
"Our total focus is Minnesota," said Dan Dawson. "It's a very different Minnesota team than we faced at the beginning of the season. We're looking forward to the opportunity."
Dawson led the Knighthawks last weekend with six points (1+5) in the game against Edmonton. Cody Jamieson also helped power the offense with two goals and two assists. "Jammer" finished March with a team-high 11 goals and 28 points as Rochester went 4-1 last month.
Rochester enters the weekend in first place in the East Division with a 9-4 record after winning four of its last five games. The Knighthawks have also won five straight games against divisional competition. Last Saturday, the Knighthawks clinched a spot in the 2014 NLL Champion's Cup Playoffs, following Minnesota's loss to Calgary.
After the loss, Minnesota remained in fifth place in the East Division. The Swarm trail the Philadelphia Wings and Toronto Rock by one and a half games for the third and final playoff spot.
"We just have to focus on what we do well. Their backs are against the wall and they're going to come out full force," said Knighthawks Head Coach Mike Hasen.
On Saturday, the Knighthawks host the Swarm at 7:30 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena. The game will conclude the season series between the two teams. Tickets are currently available by calling the Rochester Knighthawks' office at (585) 454-4295.
