KiXX Sign a Pair of Philadelphia Natives for 2005-06 Season

Philadelphia, PA, November 9, 2005 - The Philadelphia KiXX announced today that the club has agreed to terms with midfielders Tim O'Neill and David Castellanos for the 2005-06 Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) season. Both players competed with the Virginia Beach Mariners of the outdoor A-League in 2005 and participated in the club's invitational combine that was held on October 22-23 at Tri-State Sports; Philadelphia has now inked contracts with four participants of the combine after announcing on November 4 that defenders Josh Rife and Clay Roberts of the Charlotte Eagles agreed to terms for the 2005-06 season. As per League policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

A Philadelphia native, O'Neill registered four points on one goal and two assists in 27 appearances with Virginia Beach in 2005. The product of St. John's University competed with the Syracuse Salty Dogs, also of the A-League, in 2004 and received the team's Unsung Hero Award. The 23-year-old midfielder was a two-time Most Valuable Player and received All-State and All-America recognition during his tenure at Northeast Catholic. O'Neill was a member of the Catholic League Championship squad in 1999.

Castellanos, born in Fairfax, VA, relocated to Philadelphia early in his childhood and has called the City of Brotherly Love his home ever since. The 25-year-old midfielder finished second on the Mariners' scoring list in 2005 with nine points on four goals and one assist. Castellanos began his professional career with Motagua CD (Honduras - First Division) and has also competed with the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer (MLS) and the Minnesota Thunder (A-League). The product of Christopher Dock High School in Lansdale, PA graduated for UCONN with a degree in sociology.

The KiXX will kick-off their 2005-06 season versus the expansion California Cougars on Saturday, November 12, 2005. The first 5,000 fans will receive a complimentary 2005-06 Magnetic Schedule. Game-time at the Wachovia Spectrum is scheduled for 7:05 pm ET, with doors opening at 6:00 pm ET.
