Philadelphia, PA, March 13, 2009 - The Philadelphia KiXX return to the City of Brotherly Love to entertain the top-seeded Baltimore Blast for the club's second-to-last home game of the 2008-09 season. The night, dubbed "Girl Scout Night", features special discounts and promotions for the area's Girl Scouts. Game-time at the historic Wachovia Spectrum is scheduled for 7:05 pm ET and can be heard live at www.wcbm.com.
The KiXX enter the contest with an 8-8 overall record and sitting in fourth place in the National Indoor Soccer League (NISL) standings. The top three teams qualify for the 2009 NISL postseason and Baltimore has already secured the number one seed and the first-round bye. Philadelphia's magic number to qualify for either the second or three seed is three, meaning any combination of KiXX wins and Rockford losses that equal three and Philadelphia clinches a playoff spot. The two clubs currently post identical records, but the KiXX seed lower because Rockford holds the tiebreaker based on the point-differential from the clubs' four meetings this season.
The KiXX can also still catch the Monterrey La RaZa who currently post an 8-7 overall record but have a game in-hand over Philadelphia and Rockford. The team's magic number with Monterrey is four, meaning any combination of Philadelphia wins and La RaZa losses that equal four and the KiXX advance to the NISL postseason.
