Philadelphia KiXX News Release

Philadelphia, PA, October 27, 2005 - Philadelphia KiXX goalkeeper Peter Pappas and his wife, Kristina Ferrari, announced today that they will open an urban baby boutique in Wayne, PA on Saturday, October 29. The retail store, dubbed genes, is located at 122 E. Lancaster Avenue in Wayne. Pappas and ex-76er and current WIP radio personality Todd MacCulloch will be on-hand to sign autographs and meet with fans from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on October 29. In the spirit of Halloween, face painting will be available from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Sunday, October 30.

"We were frustrated with the lack of clothing and furniture options currently available in the Philadelphia market for our two sons," stated Pappas. "Philadelphia is such an amazing city and a fantastic sports town, but we weren't keeping up with other major cities in terms of design for our kids."

"We're bringing in pint-sized versions of our favorite adult lines like Paul Frank, Puma, Splendid, C&C California and Hollywood must-have Trunk, but we're mixing them in with a host of small unique designers who aren't represented yet in Philadelphia," added Ferrari. "Our primary goal is to offer comfortable, casual wear that reflects the style of today's parents who are looking for something beyond the Gap."

Genes, which includes a play area for the little ones, features a premium "denim bar" with lines like True Religion, Seven for all Mankind, Paper, Denim & Cloth, Diesel and Joe's. The boutique will also carry designer nursery furniture from NettoCollection and Nurseryworks, marking the first such outlet in the Philadelphia area. To complement those collections, the store will offer specialty items such as bedding from Dwell, mobiles from Danish designer Flensted, a Saab Roadster ride-on by Scandinavian designer Playsam, and Oprah's diaper bag pick of the season by Marie Claire fashion editor Lucy Sykes.
