
KiXX Forward Anthony Maher Named NISL Player of the Week

Anthony Maher, an eight-year veteran of professional indoor soccer, led all players with eight points in Philadelphia's 18-7 win over the Massachusetts Twisters on Saturday night. Maher recorded three two-point goals, including the game-winner, and a pair of assists. With the three-goal performance, Maher has recorded a hat trick in each of his first two games in a KiXX uniform and leads all NISL scorers with 17 points (six two-point goals and five assists). The Cape May, NJ native began his career in Cleveland, but spent the last two seasons with the Milwaukee Wave before signing with Philadelphia as a free agent for the 2008-09 campaign.
About the National Indoor Soccer League
The National Indoor Soccer League was launched in September of 2008 and consists of five founding members; the Baltimore Blast, La Raza de Monterrey, Philadelphia KiXX, Rockford Rampage and the Massachusetts Twisters. The NISL has formed a working relationship with the United Soccer Leagues (USL) and will become a member of the United States Soccer Federation (USSF).
The NISL kicked off its inaugural season on November 15th and will continue through March with the playoffs taking place the first two weeks of April. This weekend will feature four NISL games, one each day from Thursday to Sunday:
Thursday, December 11 - Rockford Rampage at Monterrey La RaZa
Friday, December 12 - Massachusetts Twisters at Baltimore Blast
Saturday, December 13 - Monterrey La RaZa at Philadelphia KiXX
Sunday, December 14 - Monterrey La RaZa at Massachusetts Twisters
