Philadelphia, PA, December 10, 2008 - The Philadelphia KiXX (2-0) entertain the Monterrey La RaZa for the first time of the 2008-09 season on Saturday, December 13. The first 2,000 fans, 14 and older, to enter the gates will receive a complimentary 2008-09 Philadelphia KiXX Dance Team Calendar. Game-time at the historic Wachovia Spectrum is scheduled for 7:05 pm ET with the doors opening at 6:00 pm ET.

Saturday, December 13, 2008, 7:05 pm - 1st Meeting of the season
Philadelphia and Monterrey will square-off for the first time of the 2008-09 season on Saturday, December 13. The La RaZa post a 1-1 record after splitting a doubleheader weekend versus the Rampage in Rockford on November 28-30. Monterrey will welcome the Rampage to the Arena de Monterrey on Thursday, December 11 prior to visiting the City of Brotherly Love. Coach Erich Geyer's squad closely resembles last season's unit, most notably the return of Defender of the Year Genoni Martinez, that was defeated by the Baltimore Blast in the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Championship game. Some new additions for 2008-09 include standout target Mark Ughy and midfielder Mariano Bollella, both of whom competed with the Chicago Storm last season.
Last Week's Outing - PHL 18, MASS 7 (12/6/08):
Philadelphia defeated the Massachusetts Twisters (0-2) by a score of 18-7 in the Twisters inaugural home game as members of the National Indoor Soccer League at the Eastern States Coliseum. All-Star Goalkeeper Peter Pappas tallied the win playing in his 400th career game, while Paul Dellistritto received the loss. Anthony Maher and Hewerton Moreira each recorded a hat trick for the second consecutive contest, while Maher also added a pair of assists for a game-best eight points. LaSalle graduate Jeremy Ortiz also found the back of the net for the KiXX, the first goal of his professional indoor career. Alex Montinucci, Jeff Deren, and Everson Maciel posted scores for the Twisters.
Dance Team Calendar Night
The first 2,000 fans, 14 and over, to enter the gates for the team's contest versus the Monterrey La RaZa on Saturday, December 13 will receive a complimentary 2008-09 Philadelphia KiXX Dance Team Calendar. The 12-member Dance Team and coordinator Jillian Gonzales were officially introduced at the team's unveiling party on November 11 and will perform at each KiXX Home Game and at various community events throughout the length of the season.
Closing in on 250 Wins
The team's next win will mark the 250th victory for the team in franchise history. The 12-year-old franchise eclipsed 100 wins in the 2000-01 season, the 200-victory mark in 2004-05 and earned League Championships in 2002 and 2007.
KiXX Introduce Holiday PaXX
In the spirit of the holiday, the Philadelphia KiXX introduced a Holiday

Philadelphia netminder Peter Pappas appeared in the 400th game of his professional indoor career in Massachusetts on December 6. The seven-time All-Star is one of only two players (Don D'Ambra) to have been with the KiXX since the team's inception in 1996 and holds the club's top mark in every goalkeeping category and ranks second to D'Ambra (422) in games played. Pappas, native of Toronto, Ontario, has recorded four career shutouts, is an eight-time All-League selection, and has received five Goalkeeper of the Year awards.
Cape May Native Receives Team's Second Weekly Award
KiXX forward Anthony Maher was named the NISL's Player of the Week for the seven-day period ending December 7. The eight-year veteran of professional indoor soccer, led all players with eight points (three 2pgs, two assists) in Philadelphia's 18-7 win over the Massachusetts Twisters on Saturday night. The three-goal performance, the Cape May, NJ has recorded a hat trick in each of his first two games in a KiXX uniform and leads all NISL scorers with 17 points (six two-point goals, five assists). Teammate Hewerton Moreira received the League's first weekly honor on Nov 17.
