KiXX Cruise Past Massachusetts, 25-6

Philadelphia, PA - The Philadelphia KiXX remain undefeated against the Massachusetts Twisters this season after their 25-6 victory in front of 6,528 fans at the Wachovia Spectrum. Midfielder Ricardinho led all scorers with a game-high 11 points on a three-point goal, three two-point goals and two assists. His tally at 6:31 of the fourth quarter marked the 50th goal of six-year career.

Ricardinho connected on a give-and-go exchange from teammate Hewerton Moreira giving Philadelphia an early 2-0 lead at 8:09 of the opening quarter Philadelphia native Pat Morris found the back of the net on a pass from newcomer Jeremy Ortiz (4-0) minutes later to extend the lead. Ricardinho and Moreira connected for the second time after a goalie deflection, to make the score 6-0 at 11:18 of the stanza. Quick passing earned Philadelphia another when player/coach Don D'Ambra found Angel Rivillo to bury the shot at 13:26, ending the period at 8-0.

Midfielders Ptah Myers and David Castellanos continued the KiXX offensive assault, connecting on a pair of two-point tallies at 2:23 and 3:41 respectively. Padro Navaro put Massachusetts on the scoreboard after a two-point goal at 10:37 to end the half with a score of 12-2.

Ortiz scored a two-point tally off pass from Cape May native Anthony Maher at 6:21 of the third to further extend Philadelphia's advantage, 14-2. Franco Cartiera posted a two-point goal for Massachusetts, 14-4. Myers responded within the minute for his second two-point score of the contest, assisted by Castellanos, 16-4.

Philadelphia went on a run in the fourth period, scoring three unanswered goals. Myers registered the first at 2:13 of the frame, followed by tallies from Ricardinho (6:31), and Castellanos (6:59). Ricardinho registered his fourth goal of the evening on the penalty kick, courtesy of a two-minute handball infraction accessed to Twisters' Mike Lapointe.
