Philadelphia KiXX News Release

PHILADELPHIA, PA - February 10, 2009 - An outdoor and mass transit campaign created for the Philadelphia KiXX professional indoor soccer club by Deardorff Associates earned four Silver Awards in the 2008 International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA) Davey competition. The work was entered in the Outdoor Advertising and Transit Advertising categories.

Using the most recognizable KiXX players, the campaign featured dramatic, up-close images of coach and 2007 MISL Championship MVP Don D'Ambra, 2006-2007 Goalkeeper of the Year Peter Pappas, and 2005 Rookie of the Year John Barry Nusum. Engaging taglines that incorporated the KiXX team name, such as SATURDAYNITEKIXX, WANNAKIXXUM? and CATCHAKIXXGAME were also incorporated. The campaign concept was initially created for billboards, but was expanded to include bus shelters and bus tails for added visibility throughout Philadelphia.

"The project was a great collaboration: It showed not only Deardorff's creativity, but produced a campaign that put the KiXX at the forefront of sports marketing," stated Darceé Roberts, Philadelphia KiXX Vice President of External Operations. "We are honored that Jill and her team at Deardorff Associates were recognized for their hard work and congratulate them for this terrific achievement."

With more than 4,000 entries from across the United States and around the world, the Davey Awards honors the finest creative work from the best small firms, agencies and companies worldwide. According to the IAVA, "The Davey is all about intelligence, out-of-the-box thinking and exceptional execution."

The Davey Awards competition is judged and overseen by IAVA, an invitation-only, member-based organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media.
