KILLER BEES INSTITUTE PROGRAMS TO BENEFIT AREA

"CORPORATE CARE CLUB" AND "SHOTS ON GOAL" PROGRAM UNDERWAY

HIDALGO, TX: August 28, 2003 – The 100% locally owned Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees understand the importance of assisting area programs and individuals, and have created the Killer Bees Corporate Care Club and the Killer Bees Shots On Goal Program.

The Killer Bees Corporate Care Club is designed for local corporations to partner with the Killer Bees to present an opportunity for physically and mentally challenged individuals, as well as unfortunate and economically disadvantaged youth to participate in the Killer Bees experience. At every home game, a special non-alcoholic section will be reserved for 125 of these individuals to enjoy a game. The Killer Bees are currently seeking companies to assist the program by sponsoring a seating section at the games and/or assist purchasing game tickets to be donated to these underprivileged children (they will set in the designated sponsored section).

"Unfortunately some children face obstacles everyday that some people never have to face in a lifetime," said Killer Bees Assistant GM & Dir. of Ticket Operations Grant Buckborough. "This program is designed to give these kids a chance to have fun and get away from the dilemmas and troubles that they face everyday."

The Killer Bees Shots on Goal Program is designed for charity groups and non-profit organizations to utilize Killer Bees hockey games for fundraising. They way the program works, each home game will have one organization represented as the Killer Bees Shots on Goal group, and they must purchase 150 tickets for the game the organization signs up for. The organizations are to then sell the 150 tickets or keep them for their own use. On top of that, the organization will have their representatives seek pledges to raise money on basis to the number of shots fired by the Killer Bees. For example, if an individual receives a ten cent pledge per shot fired and the Killer Bees take 30 shots on goal, then the individual just received a three dollar pledge for their organization. The pledge amounts per shot are unlimited and are agreed upon by the individual and the donator during the pledging period. After the game, the individual will collect the total donation from the donator. Buckborough was part of the program in Amarillo, where it originated in the league, and March of Dimes of Amarillo raised $41,600 during a game. At this time, the Killer Bees are registering charitable organizations for their Shots on Goal night, and organizations are encouraged to contact Grant Buckborough at the Killer Bees office to reserve their night.

"Its really an easy way for an organization to make money," said Buckborough. "It gets the organization's members involved with their program and the excitement of the game as the team takes shot after shot."

Those interested in seeking additional information concerning the Killer Bees Corporate Care Club and the Killer Bees Shots on Goal Program are encouraged to contact Grant Buckborough at the Killer Bees office. The Killer Bees will drop the puck for their inaugural season on October 18th in San Angelo and will play their home opener on October 31st at 7:30 PM as they will host the Corpus Christi Rayz inside the state-of-the-art Rio Grande Valley Events Center. Season tickets and corporate opportunities are available by calling the Killer Bees office at (956) 843-7825.
