Killer Bees Open Up Season on the Road

Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release


HIDALGO, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees starts their 2013-2014 season on the road with a 2 game series against division foe, the Lone Star Brahmas on Friday, September 13 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, September 14 at 7:30 p.m., at the NYTEX Sports Centre.

The Bees head to Fort Worth after a preseason sweep against the Corpus Christi IceRays.

With a solid 2 wins going into division play, RGV Killer Bees head coach Joe Coombs has high confidence and expectations for the team, "I expect us to be very prepared and ready to play... I expect us to compete and win games."

The Lone Star Brahmas, formerly the Texas Tornadoes, come into season under a new organization. During their 2012-2013 season the team finished with 36 wins and 22 losses. The team ended their season in a loss to Robertson Cup Champion the Amarillo Bulls in the division finals.

The NAHL consists of 24 teams split into 4 divisions. The RGV Killer Bees competes in the biggest division which is the South division and includes 7 teams, the Amarillo Bulls, Corpus Christi IceRays, Odessa Jackalopes, Lone Star Brahmas, Topeka RoadRunners and the Wichita Falls Wildcats.
