Metropolitan Riveters News Release

The Metropolitan Riveters continue to bring the band back together in defense of the Isobel Cup. Earlier today, Team NWHL defender and respected leader Kiira Dosdall signed a contract to play her fourth season for the Riveters.

"Going from a 4-12 record in season 1 to winning the Isobel Cup in season 3 was a remarkable journey with my teammates, coaches and staff," said Dosdall. "I can't wait to help the Riveters fight to be the first back-to-back NWHL champs!"

In 51 regular season games with the Riveters over her first three seasons, Dosdall has 3 goals and 19 assists for 22 points. She has also played in 5 playoff games, including the victory over Buffalo in the Final that brought the New Jersey Devils-aligned Riveters their first Isobel Cup.

From last year's championship roster, the Riveters have so far re-signed all three goaltenders, several of their top forwards, and defenders Dosdall, Courtney Burke, Kelsey Koelzer, Jenny Ryan, Michelle Picard and Rebecca Morse.

Collegiately, Dosdall played 134 games over four years at Colgate University and had 11 goals and 52 assists for 63 points. She was named captain in her senior year. Prior to joining the NWHL, Dosdall played one season in the CWHL and four seasons in the European Women's Hockey League. She is proud of how far the women's game and the league have come.

"The progress has been absolutely amazing," said Dosdall. "The shift from Aviator in season 1 to the Riveters' home opener at the Prudential Center before a Devils game last season is just an example of the league's exponential growth. Dani Rylan, Hayley Moore and the NWHL staff's work is incredible. I couldn't be prouder to be a part of this league for another season."
