Richmond Kickers News Release
RICHMOND, VA - (Wednesday, November 19, 2003) - Richmond Kickers forward Kevin Jeffrey has been named to the 20-man roster for tonight's international friendly between Trinidad & Tobago and Cuba. The match, to be played in Trinidad at Hasley Crawford Stadium, kicks off at 4pm (ET) today.
T&T Head Coach Stuart Charles Fevrier's squad includes only local-based professionals for this match. "The decision was taken to go into the game with a squad of local players," says Fevrier, "and we are going to make every effort to put on a good performance which will guide us as to how we will shape the team with the use of the players from abroad for future matches." Jeffrey has spent the off-season playing for the North East Stars of the T&T Pro League Senior Division, on loan from the Kickers, and will return for the 2004 season.
The former VCU standout has led the Kickers in scoring for two of the past three years and has racked up 39 goals and 25 assists for 103 points since 2001. His four game-winning goals led the team in 2003 and his 29 points tied him for fifth place in the A-League. His nine assists tied him with two other players for third in the league.
The A-League boasts 16 teams from coast-to-coast in the US and Canada, and is the highest level in the United Soccer Leagues (USL) system. For more information please check out our web site at www.RichmondKickers.com.
