New York Lizards News Release

Boston, MA - "It's great to play in front of people who followed me at Stony Brook. I'm old enough now where guys on the team remember me playing there." New York Lizards attacker Kevin Crowley is feeling nostalgic following his return to Long Island. The British Columbia native made his Lizards debut just 35 miles away from where he played his college lacrosse at Stony Brook.

Crowley registered a goal and an assist in his first game as a Lizard, however, New York would lose 11-9 to the Outlaws. The Lizards sit at 0-3 following a tough start to the 2019 season. Crowley isn't concerned with the slow start saying "we learned a lot of things." Crowley emphasized the importance of "gelling as a unit on and off the field."

Crowley is playing in his ninth MLL season and embracing a leadership role. Crowley said "he loves helping the younger guys reach their potential." Crowley preaches the idea that "there is no substitute for hard work."

Crowley carries that message of positivity and hard work to the kids he coaches. Crowley is passionate about helping kids achieve their goals." He added, "I love working with kids, they're a riot."

Giving back to lacrosse is important to Crowley due to the fact that "lacrosse has afforded him so many opportunities" on and off the field. Crowley talked about the importance of lacrosse and coaching had in allowing him to "lay his roots" in the Philadelphia and the United States following college.

As for where Crowley sees lacrosse in the future, he said, "lacrosse is in its infancy." Crowley added, "we have a template for what works" and the pro level has "plenty of growing to do" in the years to come.

Crowley and the rest of the New York Lizards return to the field this weekend against the Boston Cannons. The Lizards will be looking to grab their first win of the 2019 season.
