Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release
Peoria, IL - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Peoria Chiefs were suspended with the score tied, 2-2, on Opening Night at O'Brien Field in Peoria on Thursday. The game will be resumed Friday at 5:00 pm, followed by Friday scheduled game, played to nine innings.
The game was delayed 56 minutes by rain after the completion of the 8th inning.
Kernels starter Max Russell allowed a run on six hits, walked two and struck out six over 6 IP, but won't figure into the final decision. Brandon Decker and Jean Almanzar both have hit solo home runs for the Kernels.

Fans may also listen on-line at www.kernels.com The Kernels continue a four game road trip through Sunday in Peoria and open the 2011 season at Perfect Game Field on Monday, April 11 at 6:35 pm against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
