Kenny Langhorne Named Player Of The Week

Chicago, IL - Battle Creek Knights guard Kenny Langhorne was named PBL Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Langhorne, a 6-4 guard out of Southern Arkansas, received Player of the Week honors as he averaged 27.5 ppg, 5.5 rpg and 0.5 apg while shooting an astonishing 81.6% from the field in two victories this week.

"This is a true honor for the team," said Langhorne. "This award shows all the hard work this team has put forth this season. I would like to thank my teammates and coaches for their help in winning this award."

Langhorne led the Knights to a 2-0 week which included a 109-106 win over the Buffalo Stampede, a game in which he scored a season-high 32 points, including the decisive game winning three-pointer while also pulling down five rebounds. Langhorne finished with 23 points and six rebounds in Battle Creek's 121-95 victory over Chicago.

"Kenny is a competitor and he always hits the key shot when the game is on the line," said Battle Creek Knights Owner Scott Niecko. "He can be a force behind the arc and he can take you to the rack. Congratulations to Kenny on receiving the award."

Langhorne led Battle Creek to a PBL best 18-2 regular season record and leads the Knights in scoring at 20.1 ppg, good for tenth overall in the PBL.

"We here in Battle Creek are extremely proud of this accomplishment for Kenny," said Knights Head Coach Terry Sare. "His teammates have worked very hard to help him become the best player he can be."

"Kenny is a leader on the floor and off the floor for the Knights," stated Knights General Manager David Darkey. "Kenny has played an important role in this team's success this season."

Other nominee's included Tyrone Rayson of the Buffalo Stampede, Rashi Johnson of the Battle Creek Knights, Keith Friel of the Rochester RazorSharks, Brian Woodland of the Detroit Panthers and AJ Millien of the Halifax Rainmen.
