MORRISTOWN, N.J. (September 19, 2014) - Sky Blue FC defender Kendall Johnson has signed with Australian club Western Sydney Wanderers of the W-League for the 2014 season.

"I am very grateful for the opportunity to sign with the Wanderers this season," Johnson said. "I have always wanted to play overseas and this organization seems like a great fit. I hope I can contribute to the team in whatever way needed and continue to grow as a player."

Johnson, 23, made 15 appearances during the 2014 season, starting 12 matches and logging 1,123 minutes.

"We are grateful that Kendall will have the opportunity to compete in the W-league with the Western Sydney Wanderers and continue her development," Sky Blue FC technical director and head coach Jim Gabarra said.

The Portland, Oregon, native was drafted 12th overall in the 2013 NWSL College Draft by Sky Blue FC. During her rookie season, the University of Portland alum started all 23 games - including the NWSL semifinal match against Western NY Flash - and tallied two assists.

SBFC is currently in negotiations with Johnson regarding a new contract for the 2015 NWSL season.
