South Georgia Peanuts News Release

CONYERS, GA - The South Coast League of Professional Baseball is pleased to announce the hiring of Keith Michlig as General Manager of the South Georgia Peanuts. Michlig will oversee the entire Peanuts organization from corporate development down to player management.

"Everyone I've met has been very warm and receptive to professional baseball returning to the area," said Michlig. "The South Coast League is committed to providing exciting baseball and affordable family entertainment in a first-class setting."

Keith's professional career began in the Midwest League (Class A) in 1995 where he was the Director of Merchandising and Food & Beverage for the Beloit Snappers. After two seasons in Beloit, he became Director of Promotions and Retail for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Appleton). In 1998, he was appointed General Manager of the Northwoods League's Wisconsin Woodchucks (Wausau).

He left baseball in 2000 to attend graduate school. His work in sports continued, as Michlig was named Director of Marketing & Promotions at Mercer University (Macon), an NCAA Division I member of the Atlantic Sun Conference.

Michlig moved to Florida in 2003 to become the Palm Beach County Sports Commission's Marketing Manager, where he was actively involved with the Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award planning committee. Most recently, Keith was the Director of Marketing & Community Affairs for the National Alliance for Youth Sports in West Palm Beach, FL.

"Paul Eames Sports Complex is going to be the "place to be" starting in May," shared Michlig. "I look forward to developing strong relationships with the communities of South Georgia for years to come."

A native of Rothschild, Wisconsin, he completed his undergraduate work at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1996 and earned an MBA from Mercer in 2002. He lives with his wife, Angela, and their 8 ½ month old son, Brayden.

"We are pleased to add Keith, Angela, and Brayden to the South Coast League family," shared SCL Chief Executive Officer Jaime Toole. "I am confident that Keith's experience within the sports industry has prepared him to lead and manage the South Georgia Peanuts organization as we prime for a tremendously exciting and entertaining inaugural season."

The South Coast League is a six-team based independent professional baseball league located in the Southeastern U.S. First pitch is scheduled for May of 2007.
