KBL All-Stars defeat NBA Generations in Korea

NEW YORK, Aug. 5, 2009 - The KBL All-Stars defeated the NBA Generations team, comprised of NBA Legends and top NBA D-League prospects, 114-98 on the back of Jeon Tae Pung's 32-points last night in Seoul, Korea at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium. The match-up was the first game of the 2009 NBA Asia Challenge.
Pung's effort was complimented by 20 points from Lee Kyu Sup and Moon Kyoung Eun, while teammate Lee Seung Joon compiled a 19-point 11-rebound double-double in the win.
The NBA's squad was led by NBA Legend Dominique Wilkin's 31 points and eight rebounds, while NBA D-Leaguer Billy Thomas chipped in with 18 points and 11 boards in the loss. Wilkin's fellow Legend Tim Hardaway added ten points and NBA D-Leaguers Chris Ellis and Marcus Hubbard scored 13 and 11 points, respectively.
"The Korean All-Stars shot the ball extremely well," said head coach Rory White of the NBA D-League's Dakota Wizards. "We're going to keep working hard and are looking ahead to tonight's game."
The KBL All-Stars outshot the NBA's entry 57-percent to 50-percent from the floor and finished the game shooting 49 percent (20-of-41) from three-point territory, while the NBA squad shot only 22 percent (7-of-32). From the line, the KBL's team was nearly perfect, sinking 20-of-21 (95 percent) free throws to the NBA's 13-of-22 (59 percent).
The NBA Generations return to action tonight when the team takes on the Incheon ETLAND Elephants at the Incheon Samsan Gymnasium in Seoul.
