Connecticut Whale News Release

BROOKLYN - Kaycie Anderson, the highly-respected forward who was one of Connecticut's leading scorers last season, has re-signed with the Whale.

"Season five was my favorite yet," said Anderson. "It was full of amazing things I got to be part of: ringing the Nasdaq opening bell, the NWHL/AHL doubleheader, and even racing [broadcaster] Erica Ayala in the last warmup sprint in Boston. I can't wait to continue growing the game alongside so many passionate and inspirational women! I love this sport and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to play for the Whale."

With 3 goals and 8 assists, Anderson tied captain Shannon Doyle for the team lead in scoring. The 2020-21 season will be Anderson's fourth in Connecticut and in the NWHL.

"Kaycie had a breakout season," said Whale general manager Bray Ketchum. "She gained confidence in all situations and she continues to develop as a stronger and stronger player with each season. She is a quiet leader and respected among her teammates. We are excited to welcome her back for her fourth season!"

Over four seasons at Norwich between 2011-2015, Anderson scored 48 goals and had 70 assists for 118 points in 118 games. As a freshman, she broke every school rookie scoring record by going 23-27-50 in 31 games.

Anderson played five years of varsity hockey at Orono High School in Long Lake, Minnesota - earning team MVP honors three times. In her senior year of high school, her 71 points ranked fourth in the state.

While playing in the NWHL, Anderson regularly coaches and volunteers at hockey camps and clinics throughout Connecticut.
