Katy Ruff Riders to hold open tryouts for players and cheerleaders

KATY, TX - The Katy Ruff Riders will be holding open player tryouts this coming Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Fun Stadium (6400 Bissonett Rd.) in Houston beginning at 10:00 am. Registration will begin at 9:00 am, and the registration form is available for download at www.katyruffriders.com or can be filled out by prospective players the day of the tryout. The Ruff Riders are looking for players of all positions and each athlete will be required to participate in offensive and defensive drills. The format of the tryout will be a pro-style combine, with select players invited to stay for position drills.
The Ruff Riders will also hold open tryouts in Dallas on February 10, and in Memphis, Tennessee on February 24. Katy Ruff Riders Head Coach Donald Hollas (former NFL & Rice Owls quarterback) and his coaching staff will be on hand to evaluate all players at the tryout camps. All participants will be required to sign a waiver and pay a $50.00 cash only registration fee. Players should dress in workout gear and have the appropriate shoes. Pads will NOT be worn. Players should arrive one hour early to register.
The 2007 season marks the inaugural season of the Katy Ruff Riders playing in the Intense Football League in Katy. Ruff Riders Cheerleader Auditions - Feb. 10
In addition to player tryouts, the Katy Ruff Riders will be hosting their 2007 Cheerleader Auditions on Saturday, February 10 at LA Fitness (19550 Restaurant Row) in Katy at 1:00 p.m. The Ruff Riders are looking for outgoing, friendly, talented and bright females with a cheer or dance background. All participants need to bring a headshot (no smaller than a 4x6) and dress in appropriate dance wear (fitted tank or sports bra and dance pants). Each participant must be 18 years or older and a $15.00 audition fee is required.
