NASHVILLE (Mar. 6, 2006) - The Nashville Kats have waived kicker Tony Dodson, head coach Pat Sperduto announced on Monday.
Dodson, who played in the final six games for the Kats in 2005 and in all six so far in 2006, had missed nine extra point attempts this season, including three in a 51-49 loss at Arizona on Saturday night. The third-year veteran had made six-of-12 field goal attempts on the year.
A replacement for Dodson is expected to be signed on Tuesday.
Dodson's release marks the first time the Kats have released a player so far in 2006.
The Kats (4-2) play at Utah on Friday night at 8 p.m. CT. Nashville returns home next week to face the Chicago Rush on Fri., March 17 at the Gaylord Entertainment Center.
