Nashville Kats News Release

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - FB/LB Rupert Grant rushed for the go-ahead touchdown with nine seconds to play as the Nashville Kats, losers of seven straight earlier in the season, stretched their record to 2-0-1 over the last three weeks.

Nashville was part of only the second tie in arena football history last week at Dallas.

QB Leon Murray completed 19-of-27 passes for 227 yards and four touchdowns on the afternoon, two to WR/DB T.T. Toliver.

Toliver caught a 45-yard touchdown pass on the Kats first play from scrimmage. That was Nashville's only offensive play in the first quarter, but the team took a 14-6 lead when WR/DB Jarrick Hillery returned the first of two kickoffs for touchdowns.

The Avengers came back to tie the game at 20 at halftime and the teams traded blows throughout the second half until Los Angeles QB John Kaleo found OS Khori Ivy in the front corner of the end zone with less than two minutes to play.

Kaleo was 25-of-35 for 304 yards and six touchdowns in the game - two to Ivy, WR/DB Greg Hopkins and WR/DB Kevin Ingram. Down 48-43 Murray captained a last-minute drive for the Kats, ending in Grant's touchdown run. Murray hit WR/LB Darryl Hammond to convert the following two-point conversion.

Toliver and Hammond each had six receptions on the afternoon, while Toliver led the team with 100 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Nashville scored 22 points in the fourth quarter - its highest total of the year.
