Kansas City Spartans Active As Season Approaches

October 1, 2008 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Kansas City Spartans News Release

Kansas City, MO. The ABA Kansas City Spartans have been very busy getting set for their inaugural season that begins in December. According to team owner Milton Thomas, "No small part of our efforts is the involvement and impact we can make on the community - and the community has been embracing us because of it. We are very appreciative."

On the weekend of Sep 25/26, the team participated in the Walk for Diabetes and also a Lance Armstrong Cancer fundraiser. And on October 6th, the team will hold its first autograph fundraiser at Joe's Crab Shack in Independence, Missouri. "Our goal is to give back to the community and we're off to a good start," added Thomas.

The team recently signed John "The Hawk" Hawkins, a 6'3" shooting guard from Northwest Missouri State. For more information, visit www.kansascityspartans.com or www.abalive.com.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
