INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The Florida Tropics, presented by Bond Clinic and in their seventh season of action in the Major Arena Soccer League, had few answers against the Kansas City Comets Friday night as the hosts poured in a dozen goals en route to a 12-6 win.

The triumph moved the Comets into a second place tie in the MASL East Division as each team now has 23 points. Kansas City has played one more game that Florida, who will finish a five-game road trip with an 8:05 kickoff in St. Louis against the Ambush tonight. The game will be broadcast live on MASL TV on Twitch.

It was the third most goals the Tropics have ever allowed in a game, in a season where they also gave up 11 to the Empire Strykers which is the fourth most ever allowed in a game.

Zach Reget, who the Tropics traded to Harrisburg several weeks ago before the Heat flipped him to the Comets, stung his ex-mates for five goals, three when Florida played the fourth quarter with a sixth-attacker.

Kansas City scored the first five goals of the night, and the Tropics never got any closer than three the rest of the way. Florida goals came from Ricardo Diegues, Vini Dantas, Kiel Williams, Rafa Alves, Ricardo Carvalho and Julian Hall, his first ever in the MASL.

Kansas City outshot Florida, 40-38, and scored four of its 12 goals with the sixth attacker.

St. Louis lost Friday night at home to the Milwaukee Wave, 7-0, and are led by Robert Kristo with nine goals and four assists. The Tropics are led by Ricardo Carvalho with 14 goals and nine assists. Florida is expected to have Captain Victor Parreiras out for his fourth consecutive game because of a quad injury. Depute the games missed, he is still the team's second-leading scorer.

After this weekend, the Tropics will enjoy a little home cooking again with back to back Sunday matinee's at the RP Funding Center with the Comets visiting Feb. 19 and the Tacoma Stars in town on Feb. 26.

Home game tickets are available starting at just $7 per game by calling the arena box office at 863-834-8111. Although tickets are also available online at www.rpfundingcenter.com, service fees are significantly higher through Ticketmaster as opposed to calling the box office directly.
