Kaczmar, Clark Help Navigators Sweep Week 5 Awards

SOUTH HADLEY, MA - Henry Kaczmar (North Shore, INF, Ohio State) and Brayden Clark (North Shore, P, Salve Regina) have won the Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for Week Five of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) regular season.
Kaczmar has had quite the week for the Navs, hitting .423 (11-26) with six runs scored and four RBIs in six games. He started the week with a 3-5 game July 3rd at Sanford, knocking in two runs while also scoring a run himself. He followed that up with a four-hit game July 5th at Keene, helping contribute to a 13-4 onslaught, scoring three runs and driving in another. He then had another multi-hit game July 8th at Danbury in a 12-10 Navs win, gathering two hits and scoring two runs.
During his Freshman campaign with the Buckeyes, Kaczmar appeared in 55 games, batting .293 (61-208), hitting seven home runs and driving in 46, while also scoring 29 runs and drawing 26 walks.
Clark had an outstanding outing this week for the Navs, pitching his best game of the season against the league's most potent offense. Clark threw eight shutout innings against the Newport Gulls on July 9th, allowing three hits, no runs, and striking out six batters. This lowered his ERA to 0.93 on the season in five games started.
In his junior season at Salve Regina, Clark appeared in fourteen games, starting all of them. He compiled a 10-2 record, with a 3.24 ERA in 80.2 innings pitched, striking out 85 hitters and registering a 9.48 K/9.
Kaczmar and Clark's Navigators currently sit at 13-15 and are in fourth place in the Coastal Division, sitting 8.5 games behind the first place Gulls, but only three games behind the second place Schooners.
