Justin Bergeron Named Ultramar Player of the Week

Boucherville, QC - This week's Ultramar Player of the Week is Rouyn-Noranda Huskies defenseman Justin Bergeron. In a pair of home games, the 18-year-old from Magog, Quebec recorded five assists and was not on the ice for a single goal against as the Huskies took a 2-0 series lead in their Semi-Final series with the Rimouski Oceanic.

On Friday night, Bergeron dished out three helpers, including an assist on the game-winning tally, and was a +2 on the night as the Huskies took Game 1 of the best-of-seven set with the Oceanic by a score of 5-1. The blueliner, now in his second full season in the "Q", was named the game's third star.

The following night, Bergeron registered another pair of assists and was a completed the contest with a +4 rating as the Huskies rallied from a 3-2 deficit to take Game 2 in a dramatic 4-3 victory. Bergeron was on the ice for Felix Bibeau's game-winner with 40 seconds remaining in the third period, propelling the club to its eighth consecutive victory.

Bergeron currently sits third among all QMJHL defensemen in the President Cup Playoffs with 12 points in 11 games. A fourth-round selection of the Huskies in the 2016 QMJHL Draft, Bergeron attended NHL training camp last fall with the Boston Bruins.
