Joy Makes Gades Fans Happy

For the second week in a row Justin Joy scored with only seconds remaining in a game to secure a victory on the road for the Richmond Renegades.

Tonight the Renegades took on the Twin City Cyclones in a pivotal game for both teams. The game went to overtime tied at 3 and with only 6 seconds left, Joy took a pass from Donald Melnyk and RC Lyke and found the back of the net for the game winner.

Just over a week ago Joy took a feed from Brett Needham and Donald Melnyk to score the game winner in Jacksonville with 3 seconds left to play in regulation.

With the win the Renegades move into sole possession of third place in the SPHL with only 3 games remaining in the schedule. They are at home Wednesday against Fayetteville and return to Fayetteville on Friday. They play their final regular season game next Saturday, March 22nd against the Twin City Cyclones.

The final day of regulation will be a busy one for hockey fans in Richmond. It's PACK THE FREEZER NIGHT with a special price of only $6.50 for all upper level seats. At 1 PM Richmond Hockey Fights Cancer will play their annual Hope game followed at 5:30 PM by the Legends of Richmond hockey game. Players from the past professional reams in Richmond will appear including current coach Brian Goudie, Rod "The Rocket" Taylor, David Hymovitz, Ron Pesetti and many others. Coach John Brophy will head one of the squads. At 7:35 PM the Renegades will take on the Twin City Cyclones.

It will be Fan Appreciation Day with many gifts and giveaways. Miss Renegades 2008 will be crowned plus there will be jersey auctions following the game.
