May 13, 2005 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Chicago Rush News Release
The Chicago Rush announced today it has signed lineman John Thomas to a contract through the 2007 season. In addition, the team activated WR/DB Greg Williams from its injured reserve list and placed lineman Johnathan Taylor on injured reserve with a lower back contusion.
Thomas (6-2, 315, Nevada) rejoins the Rush after spending the first part of the 2005 season with the New York Dragons. Thomas was a rookie with Chicago last season, before signing a free agent contract with the Dragons last fall.
Thomas played in 11 games for the Rush in 2004, recording five tackles and one sack. His 2005 season with the Dragons was marred by injuries, with Thomas only playing in eight games and recording five tackles before being released last week.
The Rush (8-6) returns to Allstate Arena this Sunday, May 15, for its final regular season home game against the Grand Rapids Rampage. Kickoff is set for noon and fans wishing to purchase tickets may order by calling Ticketmaster at (312) 559-1212, or by visiting the Ticketmaster Web site at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets also may be purchased in person at any Ticketmaster outlet or the Allstate Arena box office.
